The existing location for Sunnyside Pool was first built in the 1930's. In its prime, the pool was a fun and entertainment destination for the community. There was a grand entrance to the bathhouse in which parts are still existing today. The pool featured lap swimming as well as low and high diving boards.

In the following years, the pool has seen some renovations in its current location. The most recent has been in 2003 with the replacement of the pool shell, a zero entry, and a concession stand area. In the last decade, Southwest Iowa has seen many new and renovated pools with facility features that have attracted many visitors from near and far.

Sunnyside pool are missing a lot of this exciting features that would make this an attraction for visitors and community minded entertainment facility for its citizens. The concept for the pool will hopefully provide a pool with features fit for all ages that will suit the Atlantic community's recreation needs and also attract visitors throughout Southwest Iowa to Atlantic.

Here is the grand entrance to the pool located at the corner of Sunnyside Lane and 10th St. The Bathhouse was built in 1930's and a portion of it is still used today as a maintenance building.
